Brilliant in every way - stay here if you can!
Pros: everything was fantastic here, secure parking for our motorcycles, cool building, really friendly and helpful staff, incredible location opening out straight onto the dunes, couldn't have met our needs better, I will be coming back!
Cons: nothing, it was brilliant, oh, there was no heating but we had enough blankets, so that was fine.

Atmospheric desert hotel right on the edge of the Sahara desert
Pros: The hotel is right next to the Sahara desert, you just exit the gate and it looks like you entered a different world. The hotel is made of sandstone which adds to the feeling you are somewhere really remote. The facilities are basic but it's clean, quiet and comfortable. I had to park my motorcycle outside but inside the walled premises of the hotel so it felt secure. The town center of Merzouga where all the shops and restaurants are is just an easy 10 minutes walk away.

Such a pleasure to stay at the Sahara Sands Hotel
Pros: Such a pleasure to stay at the Sahara Sands Hotel in Merzouga. The lovely owners arranged to pick me up from my bus and even had dinner waiting for me. The star gazing from the garden was incredible! Step outside the back gate and you are in the Sahara desert, what a magic experience! Don’t forget to book via the Hotel for a sunrise/sunset camel ride or a dune buggy tour.

Pros: The hotel is located at the end of the main tourist street, about a 5-minute walk from the central area. It’s a charming building with a beautiful central garden. The rooms are large, spacious, and clean. I stayed in a few different rooms, and my favorite was one at the back with a window facing outside—it was quiet and felt more private. There’s also a lovely terrace with seating, where I spent a lot of time reading. The hotel sits right at the edge of the dunes, offering a stunning view. In just 2 minutes, you can walk to the top of a dune for an incredible panorama. The staff are warm and attentive, doing everything they can to make your stay enjoyable. There’s also a large living room with benches, perfect for relaxing or working if needed.
Cons: All was good.
