Obira Oasis Merzouga Camp

Pros: Mustafa is a great host, with his smiling wife and family he cares so much. He picked me up at the bus station late in the evening and offered me a drive when I was leaving early in the morning. Included breakfast was prepared with love and excluded dinner was perfect as well. Although there is a language barrier, everybody is doing their best to enjoy your stay as much as possible.

Cons: An arranged time was not always followed, but nothing major.

Pros: Mustafa is an amazing host, took care of everything from arrival to departure from Merzouga, it is a new camp deep in the desert far from other camps, you feel like you have to whole desert to yourself

Pros: Mustapha is very welcoming and friendly and helps you with everything you ask for. The food he makes is really nice too.

Pros: Mustafa was really nice and prepared a lovely dinner, he also was very helpful when i forgot my hat at his house and he managed to send it back to me to marrakesh. We were able to go to the desert for the sunrise.

Cons: We expected to stay in the oasis but for some reason we couldn't sleep there so we had to move to a camp outside of the desert.

Pros: The location is one of the best you can find in this desert. The oasys experience is much better and autentique of any luxury camp. Mustapha will satisfy any your need. The best night of the holiday. The dinner was very good.

Cons: Timing and organization can be improved but it was not a serious issue

Pros: We loved this place and the hosts! Small, very simple, and without pretense. Mustafa and Mohammad were both pleasant, delightful and prompt with communication. Mohammad was a great photographer for us! We added camel rides to/from camp and dinner for an extra cost after booking. The scenery on the way to the camp is gorgeous. Dinner was so delicious and they had lots of bottled water. Beds were comfortable. We got up for sunrise and climbed the dunes in front of the camp, it was so beautiful! We saw several large camps in the distance at the edge of the dunes. We were very grateful we were not there! This is much more private (just us!) and you are surrounded by dunes in all directions, unlike those. They offered breakfast and a shower back in town. We loved spending time with Mustafa's Mother! Highly recommend this place!

Mustafa's place is a total gem! Hospitality, food and talks make you want to return

Pros: We highly recommend staying with Mustafa at his family’s Obira Oasis camp! We stayed with our family for two nights for New Year’s and the experience was truly one of a kind. The location and proximity to the dunes, the food and the hospitality were top notch. Mustafa hosted us like a friend, we got to try delicious food like the wonderful berber tagine made by his mother and traditional moroccan tea, spend the night by the campfire with live music and singing but also we talked a lot and got to find out many interesting things about both the Sahara desert and the oasis. Even on the last hours of our stay Mustafa made sure to organise more attractions for us like camel riding. We still reminisce about the experience and if we ever visit Merzouga once more we’ll certainly choose Mustafa's place again!

Cons: Disregarding a few minor communication problems, everything was as it should be. When living in the desert you probably shouldn't demand great luxuries :)

Pros: Mustafa was super-friendly and helpful. He even picked me up at the bus station. We had some nice conversations together. He knows many things about Merzouga, and offered me useful information.

De magie van Merzouga.

Pros: Dit is de meest authentieke plek die je kan krijgen in Merzouga. Alle luxury camps zitten slechts aan de rand van de woestijn en bieden het zelfde gestandaardiseerde toerisme circus aan. Het kamp van Mustafa ligt daadwerkelijk in de woestijn, bij één van de grootste duinen. Bij hem slaap je echt in de woestijn en voel je vrijheid en krijg je uitzicht en ontspannen service. Als je luxe nodig hebt dan moet je hier niet zijn, maar als je ook maar een beetje kan kamperen dan is dit een uitstekende en prachtige plek om te slapen. Mustafa verzorgd goed eten en kan gepassioneerd vertellen over het leven in Merzourga.

Cons: We hadden wat miscommunicatie over welke service voor welke prijs aangeboden werd en wat er allemaal bij de boeking hoorde. Hier was Mustafa uiteindelijk wel begripvol over.

Pros: El campamento esta situado en un pequeño oasis bajo la duna mas alta de erg chebbi, un campamento bereber sencillo para vivir una experiencia autentica, alejado de los otros campamentos turisticos, puedes sacar el colchon y dormir bajo el cielo estrellado si el tiempo lo permite, Mustafa es un encanto de persona muy servicial, te espera a la llegada a Merzouga te lleva a su casa donde puedes dejar el coche te invita a un te con pastas y a descansar antes de partir a su campamento.Puedes ir en Quad o en camello, nosotros nos decantamos por el Quad, una puesta de sol espectacular y luego prepara una cena con un tajim exquisito, al amanecer ves la salida del sol y vuelta a su casa para ducharte y desayunar. La mejor opccion si te gusta alejarte del bullicio y turisteo.
