Perfect Stay
Pros: I spent a night at Moonlight Luxury Camp, and it was truly one of the highlights of my trip! The place is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by peaceful desert views and a magical under the stars. The tents were clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, always making sure I had everything I needed. The food was delicious full of flavor and served with care. Thank you to everyone at Moonlight Luxury Camp for such a wonderful experience, I’ll definitely come back again!

Pros: With all of the options for a desert camp and some reviews for other options feeling overly positive and fake, I did a lot of research before booking for our night in the Moonlight luxury camp and I can truly say this was a great experience, totally worthy of a 10 rating! The camp itself was beautiful and exactly as per the pictures (if not better). The rooms were spacious, beautifully decorated, and truly luxurious for being at the edge of the desert. It is good to know that most of the camps run in a row, dotted one next to the other with 20-100m between the next camp and even just from an outside view, our camp felt the most well-kept and well placed. The food was great, with a multiple course meal for dinner and traditional Moroccan breakfast as per most other hotels in Morocco. The staff was very friendly and engaging and topped off an experience and a stay that was a real delight and great value for money.
Cons: The only small point that could be improved would be the communication or what to expect in terms of the camel transfer (if you decide to book this - also good value compared to prices of other places) and the schedule. Our camel guide was nice, but spoke limited English and so when we stopped shortly before the camp we were left wondering for a while what we were supposed to do (as it turned out we stopped to climb a dune for the sunset). A short itinerary sent to us beforehand would be a simple solution to clear any language barriers, but this is more of an improvement point to the team rather than a critique 😊

Run, not walk, to book your stay here!!!
Pros: EVERYTHING! In all the camps we saw luxury camps we saw around us, this one was the most intimate and beautifully designed and lighted. The rooms are gorgeous and more comfortable than a hotel. The staff are the friendliest of the friendliest. My main point of contact was Said who can organize sunset camel rides, village/day tours and more. He himself is an excellent tour guide as we personally experienced. Omar was super helpful as a driver from point to point Another Said works at the camp as the reception welcome, restaurant host, and nightly musician. He just beams happiness and joy. And as he said to us often with a big smile \
Cons: That we only have 2 nights here!

Pros: The location was amazing, the camp beautiful and small in scale. Said the host was absolutely awesome, very friendly and couldn't be more accommodating. The food was delicious and plentiful and the live music performance around the fire at night with dancing was great fun. We would definitely return.
Cons: HIDDEN TRANSFER COST OF 50 EUROS. We have removed 2 points from would would have been a 10 review because there is a mandatory 50 euro charge for transfer from the hotel where they ask you to park your own vehicle. The journey is 2km or so over sand so charging 50 euros return trip and not revealing this until after booking is pretty shady! We spoke to many other people who stayed in the dunes and their transfers were included. It should be much more obvious in the booking that a transfer fee is applied, we still would have booked. If you have a 4wd vehicle or a light off-road capable motorbike you would make it to the camp yourself easily but I'm not sure there would be anywhere to park.

Pros: Amazing experience! I was researching different options for dessert camp and I'm very happy I've chosen this one! Unlike some others, here the price is very reasonable and completely fair. You get an absolutely delicious dinner and breakfast (water, tea is ofc included) and if you decide to take a camel ride/go back via car (which I think was a perfect combination) you only pay additional 70€ per two people in total. When we were there we had the whole camp to ourselves and it was simply the best!!

Pros: Sayed, the owner of the camp was being very helpful in giving all informations needed. If you are coming by car, you can park your car at Kasbah Le Berger and he will help to bring your luggage to the camp. Straight right after we arrived at 5pm after 7hrs drive from Fes, we were being brought to the camel ride activities. We had a good food for dinner and since we left early in the morning, he accommodate on giving us to-go breakfast which were really great. Night in desert was amazing with starry skies. Love this experience. I would love to repeat staying here for 2 nights. I love the people, I love the food, I love the ambience.

A special experience.
Pros: Obviously the location at the edge of the dunes was superb. Said and the rest of the staff would do everything to help. When we arrived at Mergouza and it was clear our car wasn't going to make it through the desert, we phoned and Said was there in his 4X4 in ten minutes to take us the rest of the way. As a musician I loved the live music, food was well presented and the tent accommodation was stylish and comfortable. The camel ride back to the village over the dunes will live longer in the memory than the serious groin pain!
Cons: Beyond the control of the Moonlight Desert camp, but the peace and quiet of the desert was compromised by 4X4s and ATVs constantly zooming over the dunes themselves.
