Flawless in every way
Pros: We stayed at Villa Amood for 4 nights and it was exceptional in every way. The villa is so beautiful and perfectly positioned for a peaceful experience. Spotlessly clean and so well kept. The food was brilliant, with every evening meal being 4 courses, different every night but all equally delicious! The service outstanding- special mention to Abdul who was so attentive. They arranged all of our transfers from/to the airport for us (which was very helpful as these were at very late/very early times). They also arranged all of our excursions (a local tour, camel ride at sunset and a buggy on the dunes) which were all wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble, we were so well looked after. We really hope to return one day and would unreservedly recommend to anyone looking to travel to Merzouga- honestly this is the place.
Cons: Nothing we didn’t like but one thing to be aware of is that all transfer, excursions and alcohol must be paid for in cash (no card machine)

An amazing stay 🌞
Pros: Our stay at Riad Amood in Merzouga was absolutely amazing! Abdoul and Hamad, were simply fantastic — welcoming, kind, and always attentive. They truly made us feel at home. The dinner was something out of this world, without a doubt the best meal we had during our trip to Morocco. Everything was delicious and prepared with so much care. We would have loved to stay longer and we already know we’ll come back one day. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Merzouga!

Pros: Everything really! This was a little oasis in Merzouga. The care and attention from the staff, to the room decor and comfort, hot showers (not always possible in Morocco), luxurious pool area all with the Sahara dunes in the background. The hotel offers half-board and the food was really outstanding. Different menus every night, 3 courses. Just a really pleasant stay and a place we will come back to again!
Cons: It can be a little tricky to find at night as there are no paved roads directly to the hotel so you will rely on google maps to get there.

Pros: The breakfast was always fresh and delicious, accompanied by tea and coffee, and you could enjoy it either indoors or out by the pool. The dinner was impressive, featuring a variety of dishes that changed daily. There was a lovely Spanish touch to the cuisine, thanks to Barbara, and the meals included wonderful entrées, main courses, and desserts. One of my favorites was the dates filled with cream cheese and walnuts. Abdul was incredibly attentive, always checking in to ensure we had everything we needed. The cleanliness of the rooms was impeccable, with daily housekeeping and hot water available at all times. Even in winter, the pool was kept clean and inviting. One of the highlights was the stunning night sky visible from the rooftop, with the hotel turning off its lights at night for a clearer view of the stars. The beds were super comfortable, making it easy to relax and unwind.

A beautiful haven of peace and comfort on the edge of the desert
Pros: This Riad is a haven of peace and comfort on the edge of the desert. We stayed in ten different places in our three week tour of Morocco and this was our favourite! Our room was on the upper floor, very large and comfortable with views towards the sand dunes. The bed was extremely comfortable with a warm duvet for the cold desert nights. The design is a mix of traditional Riad style interpreted in a contemporary way. And the whole Riad smells wonderful! Dinner was included and on both nights it was really excellent - the best dinners that we had while in Morocco. Breakfast was also lovely and beautifully presented. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. They couldn't do enough for us and were absolutely amazing - many thanks to them for making our stay so comfortable!

Amazing hospitality, luxury yet family-like
Pros: Warm and high quality hospitality at its best! The facilities are immaculatly clean, well maintained and much attention is paid to details - from the quality of food, its presentation to room design, lighting, music and continuous attention to guest preferences. Best bathroom with space and perfect water pressure. Nothing not to love. In fact the place reflects to the passion and devotion of the owners Barbara and Mustafa. Easily the best service experience in Morocco but among the best globally - we are very frequent globetrotting travellers, and do not give such praise easy. This place and the creators fully deserve it.
Cons: A little more signposting would have made it easier to find the place - yes, Google map has is right, but with the local dirt roads, footpaths crisscrossing, it is far from obvious when you drive here the first time.
