Outstanding Hospitality

Pros: The hospitality at this lodge off the beaten track in an isolated village in the Ounila Valley was outstanding and genuine. The owner is generous and shared time with us during both meals we had at the Riad. The meals were both substantial and representative of the best Moroccan home cooking. There was a rugged beauty to this harsh environment where life is challenging for the local villagers. This is a place to go to see the “real” Morocco and a great place for trekking as the host is a former trek leader and still organises trekking experiences in collaboration with overseas companies. Facilities are simple but comfortable. Overall, despite the challenging road to drive in, an amazing experience. Thank you Mohamed Bouchahoud for sharing your insights and Moroccan welcome. We felt very welcome and taken care of in this traditional riad. the view from the terrace was spectacular.

Pros: Our host was very kind with whom we had lovely conversations during breakfast and dinner. The homemade food was delicious and made with a lot of care.

Pros: Lovely riad, highly recommended, great location, comfortable. The last few kilometers of the road are demanding; 4x4 required. Recommend arriving during the day. We'll definitely be back one day!

Pros: Mooie overnachting gehad bij Riad Bouchahoud hotel. De gastheer is zeer gastvrij en de kamers zijn netjes en schoon. De locatie is iets afgelegen van de hoofdweg waardoor een stevige auto aan te raden is.

Geweldig!

Pros: Riad Bouchahoud is een erg mooie Riad, gelegen in de Atlas met een fenomenaal uitzicht vanaf het balkon en het dakterras. De gastheer is heel gastvrij en de service is van hoge kwaliteit! Het eten, zowel het ontbijt als het diner zijn voortreffelijk! Je krijgt tips voor mooie wandelroutes. De weg erna toe was met een gewone auto heel goed te doen.

Pros: Posto meraviglioso per chi apprezza natura, montagna e autenticità. Il proprietario, che fa anche la guida di montagna, è dispobibilissimo e ci ha raccontato tante cose interessanti. La casa con il giardino pieno di frutta e verdura. La strada per arivarci è lunga e a volte difficile da percorrere ma vale la pena!

Pros: Spektakuläre Lage,großartige Bergsicht, sehr umsichtige und freundliche Bergtour mit Mohammed, gigantischer Sternenhimmel,köstliches Abendessen

Cons: Wer mit dem eigenen Auto kommt, muss zuvor sicherstellen, dass offline-Kartenmaterial vorhanden ist (sehr schlechte Internetverbindung via Orange), sonst ist die Unterkunft fast nicht zu finden. Man muss (Stand des Eintrags) sehr fahrsicher auf unbefestigten Straßen sein.

Pros: Un riad authentique des montagnes berbères. Des chambres simples mais confortables avec une vue magnifique sur la vallée. Mohamed vous accueille avec une telle gentillesse et simplicité que l'on a regretté d'avoir réservés que deux nuits. Les habitants du village sont très accueillants. Un riad pour ceux qui veulent découvrir le Maroc rural et revenir à l'essentiel. Attention tout de même cela ce mérite, 8 kilomètres de pistes pour y arriver.
