Kasbah Tebi

The Kasbah Tebi is located in the heart of the old village of Aït-ben-Haddou. Authentic 400-year-old Berber fortified house in a preserved historic setting, this B&B is classified as a World Heritage Site by Unesco. Guests can contemplate the surrounding valley and the ancient village from the terraces, enjoying a unique immersive heritage experience. All of the rooms at Kasbah Tebi are traditionally decorated, fully candlelit, with limited electricity. They have a private bathroom with shower and toilets. A traditional breakfast is included and served every morning in the dining room or on the terrace. The hosts can also prepare dinners with Moroccan dishes upon prior reservation. Many excursions and activities, such as trekking, camel and horse riding, are possible in the area. The B&B is a 30-minute drive from Ouarzazate.

Beautiful candle-lit hotel within Bin Hadeou

Pros: Candle lit hotel (that has to be a first!), spectacular views, and very comfortable lodgings.

Cons: The breakfast was a bit limited. I was given half a glass of juice and refused a refill. It's not a big deal, but when you're paying as much as you are for this hotel, an extra glass of juice really wouldn't hurt.

Memorable and unique kasbah run by a caring family and staff - highly recommendable!

Pros: Wonderfully restored Kasbah. Truly genuine and very well renovated at the entrance of the old historic city. Unique place to stay in Ait Ben Haddou. Very personably operated by Mohammed, Hussain, their family and staff who sll are doing their utmost for making a memorable stay

Cons: Candle lights are charming, but a little more light, and heating in the rooms would add to comfort. Do not artive after nightfall, as there is quite some distance to cover, and a river to cross, in the datkness to arrive at the Kasbah from the parking.

Amazing authentic experience in a friendly, family run kasbah.

Pros: Frindly staff, beautiful architecture location and surroundings, great food, candlelit vibe.

Cons: I would suggest taking the light fixtures down to fully sell the candlelit experience. Though this is just a small thing it would make a big difference.

Pros: Very authentic old building with traditional candle light in the rooms as well as in the dining room. Nice and friendly staff. If you’re looking for something really authentic, this is the place. Very good dinner and breakfast.

Adventurous, beautiful, historic, educational. It was like falling through a time hole.

Pros: This is not your normal hotel. It’s a 400 year old rammed earth building with no mains power, accessed on foot across a river. If you’re a little bit Indiana Jones, you’ll love it.

Cons: For me, this was one of the best hotel experiences ever.

A trip highlight

Pros: We had the most perfect stay at Kasbah Tebi just before Christmas. What an incredible place. We felt like part of the family, joining the evening live music and the setting is like being in a film. 2 nights was perfect, catching the sunsets up on the hill, and going out with the horses was a highlight. We'd love to return. Thank you for having us!

Candlelight throw back in time

Pros: To sleep in a Kasbah inside Ait Benhaddon by candle light was very romantic indeed. The room was great and the staff were lovely. We watched both the sunset and the sunrise from the top of the ancient monument

Cons: You definitely pay for the experience. The accommodations were lovely and everything was gorgeous and romantic but there is a premium for the location for sure. For me, walking down the narrow passages with no electricity was pretty amazing and worth every penny
