Amazing view
Pros: The view over the green garden full of poppies and blooming roses contrasting with the red, flat-top mountains afar -fabulous! Lovely and discreet family owners who let us choose our room and eat on the adjacent balcony with our aperitif (we had bought our own alcohol and were happily given glasses to drink our wine before the food arrived, as well as cacahuètes :)
Cons: The riad is on the main road, like most of the others in the Dades Valley, and was therefore uncomfortably noisy. After a search, we found only a couple of b&b away from the road which offered a more serene rest - for those of us sensitive to man-made noise!

Simple but amazing place close to the Gorges du Dades
Pros: The hotel is located in a wonderful spot close to the Gorges du Dades If you are looking for a silent and quiet place this is the hotel. Not if you want to be in the middle of the town. The dinner prepared for us was amazing: typical tajine and cous cous. So was the breakfast. Recommended also for families.
Cons: To pay extras with credit cards would be helpful.

Fabulous Views - At Home in the Dadès Valley
Pros: This is an atmospheric, friendly, family-run auberge with comfortable rooms with great views from the terrace and balconies, across the picturesque Dadès Valley. The breakfast and dinner are excellent, and you can enjoy the views while eating outdoors, or inside next to a wood-burning stove in a cozy dining room in winter. Everyone is very hospitable here, and this is my second stay at this lovely auberge in this beautiful valley. Take the time to walk through the fields and along the nearby river, lined with fig and silver birch trees. You are just 7 km from the town Boumalne Dadès, and ontinuing north up the valley for 3km, you can walk down to the Cascades Dades, a lovely little waterfall. Further up, are the intruiging 'Monkey Finger Cliffs'. Driving 26 km up the valley, past villages and casbahs, you reach the impressive switchbacks that take you up to 2000 m with spectacular views of the Gorge Dadès below.
Cons: This is a mountainous country, so when the sun sets, the cold creeps in, especially if it is not summer.. The auberge is well heated in the living room and bedrooms; however, you will enjoy your stay more if you have plenty of warm clothing and sturdy footwear to explore this valley during the day. Give yourself plenty of time to explore this magical spot and talk to the local people. Although it is quiet in winter, this is one of the best times to visit.

Breathtaking view at a lovely family stay.
Pros: The property has a stunning view, is very well kept and organised by the family of owners. We could feel all the love and effort they put there. The food is also incredible good, one of the best meals we had in Morocco - their version of the Moroccan soup “Harira” is to die for! Well done for the lady owner who runs the kitchen! We felt lucky to have had the opportunity to try this amazing homemade recipes of hers. We tried the same dishes in many other restaurants in our trip throughout the country, but nothing was compared to hers. The breakfast was also excellent. We felt welcomed and at home!
Cons: The quality of the towels was not the best, it left pieces of fabric on the skin when used for drying and it didn’t dry the skin well. But this was just a tiny detail that they could improve to get almost perfect.

great view
Pros: Great view, great dinner, nice breakfast. The common areas were also very good.
Cons: We asked the owner for some advice about the hiking options and he was very focused on selling us a guided walk plus lunch - it was annoying. We ended up doing a hike alone and it was amazing.

Felt like Home
Pros: Auberge des Jardins du Dades is a lovely, family owned place where we felt warmly welcomed. The hosts are super friendly and Hassan gave us great hiking recommendations as well. Everyone was really accommodating and the food is amazing there. Don’t miss out on the beautiful view from the terrace!
