Pros: We had an awesome stay! The host was lovely and spoke good French! The food was wonderful and she made us dinner and breakfast for free. She showed us the family loom and gave me a lesson. The family also farm their own saffron at certain times of year. The shower had no hot water but they let us use the family shower as an alternative so no complaints. Room was heated with a modern, quiet aircon unit and we had plenty of blankets. We had a wonderful stay!

Homely, welcome stay
Pros: The host was very welcoming, and invited us in with a big smile. The room was warm and comfortable. We had dinner which was tasty, and also the breakfast had all the tasty delicacies of the area. The perfect stop on the way to the dessert.
Cons: Nothing to note - as expected

Extra friendly holiday experience
Pros: We liked the quiet village situation which was not too remote so taxis often passed nearby. We loved exploring on foot in the village and the interesting countryside. We were pleased to meet the host's extended family and were fortunately there during the harvest time for saffron. Being taken to see the harvesting was a unique pleasure.
Cons: We had difficulty adjusting the shower temperature but it worked!

Nice stay with a Berber family
Pros: We stayed at Dar Dyafa on our way from Merzouga to Agadir. The family who runs it was very friendly and made us feel welcome in their home. Our room was nice and comfortable, and staying with a local family made our Morocco trip feel more real and special. They even showed us their carpet workshop and gave us a little tour explaining the traditional weaving techniques. The best part was the dinner they cooked for us - it was real Moroccan home cooking.

Buying carpets in a Berber village
Pros: We travelled to Taznakht in search of Berber carpets and at Dar Dyafa we couldn't have found a better place to stay. The host family did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable & memorable. The accommodation was comfortable & the food was deliciously prepared according to our requests. The hosts also manage a local cooperative to help local women weavers to market their carpets. There was a wide choice of carpet styles to choose from, and all to the high standard of quality you would expect from being hand-made. The location is stunning & peaceful - a wonderful place to relax. In very close walking distance from the house are the ruins of the Kasbah which makes for interesting exploration. An amazing experience. Highly recommended.

Warm welcome with a true connection with the family!
Pros: The family that hosted us is amazing! They made us feel very welcome. We were received by Hamid, the son-in-law, who speaks English and French, who helped us to get installed. The women then invited us into their kitchen for tea and delicious snacks. After that we met Amina in her carpet workshop, where we saw her art and could try it ourselves. In the evening we ate a yummy couscous in the family room. A very warm experience!
Cons: No downsides. As in many places in Morocco, the toilet is french, which we had gotten used to by then.
