Dar Megdaz

A breathtakingly beautiful & unique part of Morocco!

Pros: Experiencing the village of Megdaz was an incredible experience! Wow. The Berber people, the mountains and landscape of the red clay houses, the donkeys, everything was like stepping back in time. The trek was breathtaking, quite literally due to the altitude but also the scenery was amazing. Mohamed and his family were wonderful hosts. The food was delicious and the bed was very comfortable and warm!

Pros: From the moment I stepped into Dar Megdaz, I was transported into a world of beauty, warmth, and incredible hospitality. The ambiance is absolutely stunning, with traditional Moroccan decor that immediately makes you feel like you’re in a luxurious oasis. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, always ready with a smile and eager to ensure I had everything I needed. It’s clear they take great pride in what they do, and it really makes a difference. The food? Simply amazing! Every dish I tried was packed with flavor and authenticity. The blend of spices and fresh ingredients created a culinary experience I won’t soon forget. Whether you’re visiting for a special occasion or just looking to enjoy a unique and unforgettable experience, Dar Megdaz is the place to be. Highly recommend it!

Pros: Welcoming and friendly family! The town is very nice and calm, the surrounding landscape is beautiful and Mohamed is an amazing host willing to share insights into the life and customs of the people of Megdaz. We had a great time, learned a lot and enjoyed the great food.

Pros: We were a group of 4 friends crossing the High Atlas by foot! After we slept a few days in mountain shelters and caves we made it to Megdaz and it felt like heaven! Mohammed picked us up with a car and brought us to Dar Megdaz. And it was like heaven for us. Mohammed is such a nice person, he showed us around the village and explained us every part of Berber culture. His mother cooked for us and we had the most delicious food of all our Morocco trip. Mohammed and his family are so warm and friendly people! And the guest house was really beautiful, the terrace with a nice view and the comfy beds. If you come to the High Atlas, Dar Megdaz should be a priority on the list for you!

It’s nice apartment hosted by local Berber family.

Pros: Very hospitable host who showed us a way to his apartment. Clean space, access to the kitchen, nice terrace, towels and very nice atmosphere in the property. True local experience

Cons: There was no hot water

Amazing stay in Magdaz.

Pros: The location was extraordinary. Really highlight of our entire Morocco trip. Definitely a must-see.

Pros: This stop has been one of the highlights of our trip. Mohamed and his family are very welcoming and take good care of the guests. The location is great, we did a hike before sunset and enjoyed all of the magnificent views in and around Megdaz. In the morning Mohamed showed us the town. Food was delicious.

Pros: Muhamed was an extraordinary host. He literally went the extra mile(s) as he took us on several hikes around the village and the beautiful landscape in the area. Sure, it's a bit on the primitive side for some, but at the ridiculously low price it is an absolute \

Pros: Absolutely amazing host. He was enormously helpful whenever we needed anything. He also took us on beautiful mountain walk for almost five hours to see the scenerious and meet the truly local people.

Pros: I had an excellent stay here. The property is lovely, Mohamed was super friendly and helpful. The village is stunning and I’d highly recommend walks in the surrounding mountains, it’s magical.
