Pros: The entourage in Chez Ali is just like the foto's on the booking-site: nice terraces in a beautiful garden with a great swimming pool. After our visit to the desert and a heated trip back to Zagora, this was just what we were wishing for. The rooms - in the garden - were very basic but clean and spacious. The restaurant has a basic menu. The food was tasteful and the staff was nice but we recommend to have enough ketchup with the fries! We didn't feel the need to go elsewhere, the garden was too nice to leave.

An amazing place to stay
Pros: Ali was extremely hospitable and kind. He made us feel very welcome from the beginning. He helped to arrange a trip for us on the Sahara. The gardens are really beautiful, a great place to unwind and relax. The food was also very delicious.

Good base to start the tour into the desert
Pros: It's a good location to start a tour into the desert. We booked our tour there, and we had a great experience. Our driver explained a lot about the region and it's nature. In the hotel we loved the garden and the pool, especially after returning from the desert. Our room had a nice balcony and an ac.
Cons: The bathroom is basic, but for the price of the room ok.

Relaxing oasis in Zagora
Pros: Always a great stay at Chez Ali (already 2nd stay there). The peaceful garden is a must, so relaxing, there are many areas to sit and chill, enjoy the pool, etc... The breakfast is simple but good

Good value hotel catering more for large groups
Pros: There's a lot to like about this hotel. The rooms are spacious and nicely-presented, beds are comfortable and if you get a balcony, it's lovely to sit out in the evening. Air-con worked well and the hot water in the shower was plentiful. Breakfast was very nice, served in the beautiful garden. The pool was fabulous and very welcome in 88 degree heat.
Cons: My only gripe is that it's frequented by large groups (they run excursions to the Sahara), which made our visit feel a little impersonal (there were just two of us) and so there wasn't much of an individual touch: \
